Legal action against the city of Boonville has been pursued by Larry and Warren Schlotzhauer regarding the development of the Park Hill Minor Subdivision after the decision by the Boonville City Council not to approve the re-platting.
In a letter sent to the Boonville Daily News from Schlotzhauer's Attorney Philip Wooldridge, the letter states that the Schlotzhauers are area residents who have for many years been in the construction and development business. They have a history of producing high quality results. Their proposed Park Hill Minor Subdivision would produce local jobs and high quality rental residences, without the use of taxpayer's money.
The letter continues to state the city council, in failing to approve the Schlotzhauers' minor subdivision, ignored its own ordinances as well as established state and federal law. Courts exist to require cities to obey the law as well as ordinary citizens. The letter ended with stating that the City of Boonville's actions required the Schlotzhauers to initiate legal action to force the City to comply with state and federal law along with its own ordinances.
More information regarding the legal action will appear in Tuesday's edition of the Boonville Daily News.
