Camaraderie between Boonville area business will be the focus of the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce Progressive Dinner on October 26. The dinner will feature local businesses as the hosts. Tickets can be purchased at the Katy Depot for $20.
Beginning at six in the evening, the Progressive Dinner allows people to travel from one host business to the other while enjoying segments of the meals. This year's business host will include the Cooper County Animal Hospital, who will provide the appetizers. Rent-A-Center will provide the soup and salad, the Cooper County Farm Bureau will provide the dinner and Cooper County Memorial Hospital will provide the dessert.
President of the Boonville Area Chamber Board Brad Wooldridge said the dinner is meant to bring businesses together.
"It gives individuals a chance to network with local business owners as they tell and showcase what their business has to offer," Wooldridge said.
Wooldridge said that the dinner has been held as long as he can remember, even mentioning that he remembers hearing about the dinner as a kid. He said that the dinner is also used as a fundraiser for the chamber so it may be able to fund the many festivities throughout the year along with a scholarship that is given each year as well.
"It will be an easy way to support the chamber, get a dinner and have a good time," Wooldridge said. "We try to incorporate different businesses and areas of our community each year."
