  • The Ss. Peter & Paul boys and girls junior high basketball teams went in opposite directions last night in the annual Higbee Tournament.
While the Lady Warriors defeated the host team 33-17, the Ss. Peter & Paul boys fell to the Sturgeon Bulldogs by a score of 31-23.

Ss. Peter & Paul coach Danny Fuemmeler said the girls struggled at times to put the ball in the hoop but once again the defense was excellent and we were able to hold them below 20 points. “At times we were forcing passes but I applaud their unselfish team approach,” Fuemmeler said.

Ss. Peter & Paul coach Kevin lang said this was a tale of two halves.
“We played good defense and kept them off the boards in the first half but not in the second,” Lang said. “We could never get into a groove offensively.”
