The LSE Lady Hawks volleyball team won in two straight sets Tuesday night on the road by beating the Eldon Lady Mustangs 26-24 and 26-24.
Although the Lady Hawks won in two, head coach Dina Herzog said the girls had too many missed serves early in the game. “They worked as a team and fought to win the first game,” Herzog said. “Everything came together in the second set. We are transitioning at the net and serving better. I also thought we talked on the court and improved from last Thursday’s home match.”
Lindsey Harris had five assists, four kills, one ace and one block in the match for LSE while Kyla Johnson added six kills, three blocks and one ace. Dana Lester finished the match with four assists and two aces while Jordan Xufuris had three digs and one ace, Shayann Potter with two kills, one dig and one ace and Malaysia Hammers with two kills and one ace.
The LSE Red team also defeated Eldon in two straight 25-18 and 25-21.
Herzog said the girls for the Red team served very well. “Things were really coming together for the Red team,” Herzog said. “They showed team effort and everyone contributed to the team’s success.”
Hannah Gross led the Lady Hawks with four aces and two kills while Andrea Jackson added five aces, Daniel Johneisha with two blocks and one assist, Brianna Walker with two kills, Kelsey Bishop with two aces, Stephanie Kempf with one ace and Natalie Bishop with one kill.
The LSE Lady Hawks volleyball team will host California tonight at the LSE gymnasium starting at 5:30 p.m.
