  • BOONVILLE—State Fair Community College-Boonville has received approval to offer a two-year Associate of Arts (AA) degree at its site on the Kemper Campus, 701 W. Third St.
The Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education approved the college’s proposal. The AA degree is designed for transfer to a four-year college or university.
Dr. Brent Bates, vice president for Educational and Student Support Services, said the AA degree is one of SFCC’s most popular degree offerings.
“This degree is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year university,” said Bates. “It means SFCC-Boonville students can now start and complete their AA degrees in the same location. It will present a great opportunity for Cooper County students to complete an associate degree, and then transfer to a university such as Central Methodist, the University of Missouri or other institutions.”
People can enroll now for second eight-week fall classes that begin Oct. 15. Classes offered include Introduction to Math Skills, Introduction to Essays and Elementary Algebra.
For more information or to enroll, contact Site Coordinator Kinsey Feldmann at  kfeldmann@sfccmo.edu or at (660) 281-5870 or visit www.sfccmo.edu/boonville.
People also may enroll at the Sedalia campus. Call the Admissions Office at (660) 530-5833 or visit www.sfccmo.edu for more information.
SFCC offers 41 degrees, 14 Professional Certificates and 20 Skills Certificates. The college offers more than 260 online classes, plus complete degree programs online—an Associate of Arts degree, a business management degree, or a one-year certificate in real estate appraisal.
SFCC-Boonville will have an open house and ribbon cutting from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Kemper Campus. The public is invited to tour the new campus and enter a drawing to win SFCC items.
SFCC President Dr. Marsha Drennon and Boonville Mayor Julie Thacher will give brief remarks at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.
