The LSE Lady Hawks volleyball team picked up two straight wins Wednesday night on the road by beating the Fulton Hornets by the scores of 25-14 and 25-23.
LSE volleyball coach Dina Herzog said in Game 1 the girls played much better than they practiced on Tuesday. “They worked as a team and passed well,” Herzog said. “I was glad to see them with positive attitudes. Meanwhile, in Game 2, this was a true team victory with everyone contributing. We had great serves and we were down and fought back to win. We haven’t come from behind in Game 2 to win because we usually go to Game 3.”
Shayann Potter led the Lady Hawks with four aces. Lindsey Harris finished the match with three aces and one assist while Dana Lester and Kishanda Jones added three aces each, Kyla Johnson with two aces and one kill and Jordan Xufuris with two aces.
In the second game, the Lady Hawks Red team beat Fulton in two straight games 25-9 and 25-16.
Herzog said the girls came out strong serving. “Natalie Bishop went on a run and scored a quick eight points,” Herzog said. “We played as a team with pass, set and hitting. During the second match, Hannah Gross came off the bench and served seven points.”
Natalie Bishop had 12 aces in the game for LSE while Hannah Gross had seven aces and one kill, Brynn Edwards with two assists, two blocks and one ace, Daniel Johneisha with two aces and one kill, Brianna Walker with two assists and one kill and Kelsey Bishop with two kills.
