  • Boonville teams hold their own in Columbia Football League

  • During the week of September 23-29, the Boonville third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade football teams went a combined 4-2 overall.
    On Sunday, September 23rd, the Boonville third grade team defeated the Columbia Cowboys at Cosmo Park in Columbia by a score of 27-0.
    Traveon Coleman completed 2 of 3 passes in the game for 12 yards to Memphis Waibel.
    Traveon Coleman also had nine carries for 57 yards in the game while Memphis Waibel added two carries for 55 yards, Jamesian McKee with 11 carries for 41 yards, Trevionne Gardner with four carries for 19 yards, Lane Keeran with five carries for 11 yards and Hunter Tarr with four carries for 10 yards.
    On defense, De'Andre Wesolak had three unassisted tackles, Hunter Tarr two unassisted and one assisted, Hayden Tarr three unassisted, Jamesian McKee two unassisted, Traveon Coleman one unassisted, Cade Schupp, one unassisted and one assisted, Peyton Hahn one assisted and Marcus Connelly with one unassisted and one assisted.
    Coleman also had two one-point extra point attempts and one forced fumble while Hayden Tarr added one touchdown and one extra point, Gardner with one extra point, Waibel with one touchdown, Keeran with two touchdowns, Hunter Tarr with one fumble recovery, McKee with one forced fumble, Schupp with one fumble recovery and Chandler Stonecipher with one fumble recovery.
    On Wednesday, Sept. 26, Boonville's fourth grade defeated the Columbia Broncos 13-6.
    Bailey Quint was the leading rusher in the game with five carries for 152 yards while Lane West had five carries for 73 yards, Andrew Wiser with five carries for 12.5 yards, Spencer Steakley with five carries for 5 yards and Tucker Kaiser with four carries for 1 yard.
    On defense, Quinton Ewings had one unassisted tackle and one assisted tackle while Carter Stumph added one unassisted tackle and one assisted, Tucker Kaiser with one assisted, Justice Ombuya with three unassisted and three assisted, Damarian Jones with one assisted, Harper Stock with three unassisted and two assisted, Bailey Quint with two unassisted and three assisted, Dustyn Taylor with two assisted, Darius Jones with three assisted, Colton Carney with two unassisted and one assisted, Andrew Wiser with one unassisted and one assisted, Eric Bundy with one unassisted, Lane West with five unassisted and seven assisted, Luke Kollmeyer with one unassisted, Saylor Marques with two assisted, Ty Stidham with one unassisted, Spencer Steakley with one unassisted and three assisted and Jason Bundy with two unassisted.
    Kaiser also had one touchdown while Quint added one touchdown and one extra points.
    On Thursday, Sept. 27, Boonville's sixth grade team fell to the Columbia Packers 26-0.
    Zack Watring passed for a total of 53 yards in the game and rushed for another 29. Brandon Johnson had 13 total yards rushing while Cameron Carney added seven yards.
    On defense, Johnson had four unassisted and three assisted. Gavin Vollmer added three unassisted and six assisted, while Cameron Carney had one unassisted and three assisted, Nathaniel Brown one unassisted and two assisted, Phoenix Price with one unassisted, Zane Mesik with one unassisted, Noah Kelley with three assisted, Trae Williams with three assisted, Zack Watring with four assisted, Hunter Cook with three assisted, Dalton Elder with two assisted and Cole Corbitt with one assisted.
    Page 2 of 3 - Reece Lang also had a 16-yard punt while Brandon Johnson added two kick offs for 55 yards, one returned kick off for 13 yards and one interception on a PAT attempt and Trae Williams with one kick off return for 18 yards.
    On September 29, Boonville's first and second grade team won by forfeit over Sweet Springs 7-0 at Sedalia High School football field.
    Meanwhile, on Sunday, Sept. 29, Boonville's fourth grade team won by a score of 14-0 over the Columbia Cowboys.
    Bailey Quint was the leading rusher in the game with 13 carries for 63 yards while Spencer Steakley added 11 for 45, Tucker Kaiser seven for 34 and Andrew Wiser six for 19.
    On defense, Lane West had eight unassisted and two assisted.
    Luke Kollmeyer finished the game with four unassisted and three assisted while Andrew Wiser added two unassisted, Justice Ombuya with three unassisted and seven assisted, Damarian Jones with one assisted, Colton Carney with two unassisted and two assisted, Tucker Kaiser with two unassisted, Hunter Pethan with one unassisted, Darius Jones with one unassisted, Damarian Jones with one unassisted, Harper Stock with two unassisted, Dustyn Taylor with two unassisted, Lane Smallwood with one unassisted, Eric Bundy with one unassisted and Spencer Steakley with one unassisted.
    Steakley also had two touchdowns while Quint threw for a two-point conversion to Justice Ombuya. Lane West also had a 33-yard kick off return.
    Boonville's fifth grade was also victorious Sunday against the Columbia Packers 41-6.
    Elijah Carter had a total of 187 yards while Peyton Keeran added 45 45 yards, Elijah Pinkett 32 yards, Tramel Coleman 26 yards, Gavin Bishop 23 yards and Josh Chrisman with 8 yards.
    On defense, Gage Sprigg had two assisted tackles, Alex Rhode two assisted tackles, Blake Poulson two assisted tackles, Carson Bail three unassisted and three assisted tackles, Peyton Keeran two unassisted and one assisted, David Springer two unassisted and five assisted, Adam Lester one unassisted and three assisted, Elijah Carter eight unassisted and five assisted, Carter Bailey one assisted, Greyson Mesik two unassisted and four assisted, Jake Horst one unassisted and three assisted, Gage Smith one assisted, Tramel Coleman two assisted, Elijah Pinkett three unassisted and two assisted, Colton Scott one unassisted and Russell Potter one assisted.
    Bishop also had one sack while Carter had one sack and five touchdowns, Chrisman with two PATs, Jake Horst with one PAT, Pinkett with one interception and Quin Gentry with one PAT.
    As for Boonville's sixth grade team, they fell to the Columbia Packers 33-7.
    Zack Watring had a total of 36 yards rushing while Brandon Johnson added 19 yards rushing, Zane Mesik six yards rushing and Reece Lang with five yards rushing.
    Lang also threw for 67 yards, which resulted in a 40-yard gain and touchdown by Zane Mesik.
    On defense, Brandon Johnson had four unassisted and four assisted tackles while Cameron Carney added one unassisted and four assisted, Hunter Cook one unassisted and one assisted, Phoenix Price one unassisted and two assisted, Trae Williams one unassisted and two assisted, Reece Lang one assisted, Noah Kelley four assisted, Gavin Vollmer three assisted, Zack Watring two assisted, Charlie Pumel one unassisted, Dalton Elder one unassisted, Cole Corbitt one assisted, Landon Weaver one assisted and Sean White four assisted.
    Page 3 of 3 - Lang also punted the ball for 20, 22 and 23 yards. Johnson had one kick off for 26 yards, one for 17 and one fumble recovery while Carney added one kick off return, Mesik one kick off return for 10 yards and Corbitt with one kick off for a short gain.
