The Lady Tigers led Otterville 8-2 after first period’s end but was outscored 18-7 the rest of the way to suffer the loss.
Pilot Grove coach Landon Daniel said it was the first game of the season and it showed. “We came out really hot, scoring off of the tip and creating a turnover to go 4-0 and lead 8-2 after the first. It pretty much went downhill after that. We missed a lot of lay-ups and when our point guard got into foul trouble, we struggled. Hats off to Otterville for coming out with a full court press the entire game which was something we were not ready for. We have a lot of work to do and it starts from top down but we will definitely work hard to make sure that we are ready for next week and the Prairie Home Tournament.”
Reagan Walker paced all scorers in the game for Pilot Grove with five points. Cathlynn Hardt chipped in four while Kirstie Schupp, Sasha Moore and Madison Kempf added two points each.
