The Boonville Pirates JV football team raised its season record to 2-3 by beating the Kirksville Tigers last night at the BHS Sports Complex by a score of 20-0.
Boonville JV coach Joe Henke said the Pirates dominated both sides of the ball against Kirksville. “I was happy to see everyone play and have success,” Henke said.
Austin Henderson, Brenden Meyer and Jared Bledsoe each scored a touchdown on the night for the Pirates. Henderson also had a big night rushing the ball with 168 yards. Meanwhile, on the receiving end, Henke said Meyer and Bledsoe each scored on receptions from Henderson and Jady Reese. Austin Hazlett also had one reception in the game.
As for the defense, the Pirates were led by Andrew Broyhill and Jordan Weaver with four and 11 tackles, respectively. Bledsoe also had an interception in the game.
The Boonville Pirates JV football team will closeout the regular season on Monday, Oct. 8 at Fulton starting at 5 p.m.
