Willard “Bert” Chipley, Sr., of Boonville, passed away at his home on September 26, 2012.  He was 80 years old.
He was born in Estil, Missouri on September 11, 1932 to John Willard and Nora Ellen Jackson Chipley.  On December 5, 1958 he married Gail Gilpin and she survives.
Mr. Chipley was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed for 34 years with the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of Odd Fellows, National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Willard Shaw Chipley, Jr. of Columbia; two daughters, Nora Lee Chipley Barteau and Tina Marie Chipley Larm both of Boonville; a brother,  Jack Chipley of New Franklin; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Seyller; and a granddaughter, Charity Hope Stockwell.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
