The 2012 Step-Up-to-Leadership class held their graduation ceremony Wednesday night at the Boonville High School Commons.
Leonard Shafer, one of the graduates, performed the evening's welcome and introductions. Kendra Keith, another graduate, read "Leadership" by Kathryn E. Nelson.
Following a catered dinner by Total Package Custom Catering, each graduate spoke about their passion for the community and how the leadership class helped them take the next step.
Paul Davis, Eastern District Commissioner for Cooper County and a CMCA board member, was the keynote speaker. He praised the class on their passions for the future of Cooper County and noted that each spoke of community and not self.
Class facilitators Abby Lenger and Evan Melkersman presented the Class and awarded the Certificates.
Cake and ice cream followed and closing remarks were made by Darin Preis, Executive Director of CMCA.
