  • The Knights of Columbus held its annual 9-11 Memorial Service this morning at the Ss. Peter & Paul gymnasium. Ss. Peter & Paul Principal Alan Lammers said the service opened with a prayer, followed by the raising of the flag by the Knights of Columbus and Boonville Fire Department. After the raising of the flag, Lammers said Sam Esser led a group of 203 students pre-school thru eighth grade in a Pledge of Allegiance. Then, after ringing of the bell three times to honor those who lost their lives that day, Lammers said Lance Quinlan read a scripture. "I talked to the kids why we do this," Lammers said, "and then I recognized the veterans, active military, law enforcement, Missouri Highway Patrol and Boonville Fire Department. Delbert Fairley, a representative of the VFW, then talked to everyone what it means to serve your country."
