My name is Paul Zacharias, and I am happy to introduce myself as the new General Manager of the Boonville Daily News. I am originally from India, and grew up in Edwardsville, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis. Except for attending college at St. Louis University, I have lived in central Missouri for the past 30 years.
In 1993, I co-founded Slackers in Columbia with a friend from college. Together we opened nine locations in Illinois and Missouri. Additionally, I've taught business classes at Stephens and Bryan College in Columbia. This fall I will be teaching at the State Fair Community College's new Boonville campus. Having been a small business owner for over 15 years, I'm pleased to say that the business community will have a friend and ally at the Daily News.
In the coming months you'll see me at Pirates football games, Festival of Lights and various community events. Feel free to say hello and have a chat. I'm looking forward to meeting many nice folks in the area, and helping continue the Daily News tradition of journalistic excellence and community involvement.
