  • Huebert Fiberboard and Boonville Ready Mix closed out the 2012 season how they started Tuesday in Cal Ripken Minor: with a bang.
    While finishing 1-2 in the final-team standings, Boonville Ready Mix defeated Boonville Daily News 11-4 in the nightcap. Meanwhile, in the first game, Huebert Fiberboard blanked McDonald’s by a score of 11-0.
    Huebert Fiberboard, who finished the season at 15-3 overall, couldn’t have asked for a better start against McDonald’s by exploding for nine runs in the bottom-half of the first on four walks, three errors and four hits. Reece Lang, who batted twice in the inning, had two singles and a RBI while John Jenkins added a RBI-single and Josh Chrisman with one single.
    Huebert Fiberboard never looked back from that point on in the ballgame, adding two more runs in the third on one walk, two errors and a wild pitch.
    Reece Lang also picked up the win on the mound for Huebert Fiberboard while Brayden Page took the loss for McDonald’s, who closed out the season at 7-11 overall.
    Lang pitched the first-two innings and struck out four batters while walking one. Josh Chrisman then came in and pitched one inning in relief and allowed one hit while striking out one. Then, to finish the game, Blake Vaughn pitched one inning and walked two while striking out one batter.
    For McDonald’s, Page pitched one inning and gave up nine runs on four hits and four walks while striking out one. Then, to finish the game, Colten Collyott pitched two innings in relief and yielded two runs on one hit and three walks while striking out one batter.
    Huebert Fiberboard also out-hit McDonald’s 5-1, with Reece Lang going 1-for-3 with a two-RBI single. John Jenkins and Spencer Steakley each had a single and one RBI while Josh Chrisman added one single.
    For McDonald’s, Brayden Page went 1-for-2 with one single.
    In the nightcap, Boonville Ready Mix jumped out to stay against Boonville Daily News by pushing across one run in the top-half of the first on a one-out triple by Bailey Quint and a RBI-double by Cole Meisenheimer.
    Meanwhile, after both teams failed to score in the second inning, Boonville Ready Mix came back and plated two runs in the third on three walks and a single by Carson Campbell. Then, after adding three more runs in the fourth on two walks, three errors and a two-RBI single by Bailey Quint to go up 6-0, Boonville Ready Mix all but made it official by sending five more runs across in the fifth on three walks, two errors and a RBI-double by Aaron Witting to extend the lead to 11-0.
    The Boonville Daily News then came back with four runs in the bottom-half of the fifth to avoid the shutout on three walks, a single by Ellis Teter, a RBI-single by Alex Rhode and a two-RBI double by Will Neckerman.
    Page 2 of 2 - Cole Meisenheimer picked up the win on the mound for Boonville Ready Mix, who finished the season at 16-2 overall, while Alex Rhode took the loss for Boonville Daily News, who closed out the season at 5-13 overall.
    Meisenheimer pitched the first-three innings and struck out seven batters while walking four batters. Bailey Quint then came in and pitched two innings in relief and allowed four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out one.
    For Boonville Daily News, Alex Rhode pitched the first-three innings and surrendered three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out four. Luke Kollmeyer then came in and pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief and issued seven runs on two hits and four walks. Then, to finish the game, Elijah Pinkett pitched 2/3 inning and yielded one run on one walk while striking out one batter.
    Boonville Ready Mix also finished the game with five hits, with Bailey Quint going 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBIs. Cole Meisenheimer was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Aaron Witting added a double and one RBI and Carson Campbell with one single and one RBI.
    For Boonville Daily News, Will Neckerman went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs while Alex Rhode added a double and one RBI and Ellis Teter with one single.
