  • Trailing by two runs after 3 1/2 innings with just one inning to play seemed insurmountable for CARSTAR last night in the first game against Excel in Cal Ripken Minor.
However a seven-run fourth all but took care of that as CARSTAR rallied past Excel by a score of 12-7.
Meanwhile, in the nightcap, Einspahr Construction held off a rally in the fifth by Boonville Daily News for a 6-5 victory.
Although Excel scored first in the ballgame with one run in the top-half of the first on two walks and a single by Charlie Bronakowski, CARSTAR answered and then some in its half of the inning with four runs on three walks and two errors to go up by a score of 4-1.
But even that was short-lived as Excel rallied back with one run in the top-half of the second on one walk and a triple by Charlie Bronakowski  and three again in the third on three walks, one error and a RBI-single by Carson Baily to go ahead by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, in the fourth, Excel added two more runs on four walks and a fielder’s choice by Harper Stock to make it 6-5.
However the last at-bat proved to be the difference in the ballgame as CARSTAR rallied back with seven runs in the bottom-half of the fourth on seven walks, a two-RBI double by Haden Singleton and a two-RBI single by Peyton Keeran.
Ethan Walker picked up the win on the mound for CARSTAR while Charlie Bronakowski took the loss  for Excel.
