St. Peters native, Kinsey Feldman, has been named site coordinator of the new State Fair Community College Boonville location. Since 2010, Feldman has served as administrative assistant for SFCC at Whiteman Air Force Base.
“In the two years I've worked for the college, I've learned many things about SFCC and what is expected of its employees and students. I've handled a wide range of tasks, from enrolling students in classes and helping with advising and financial aid, to running the national testing center on base. I can’t wait to bring that same experience to Boonville," said Feldman.
Feldman was educated at the University of Central Missouri, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Currently, she is completing work on a graduate degree in Business Administration, Management and Leadership through Webster University.
As of Monday afternoon, 77 students have committed themselves to the local SFCC branch. Two more upcoming events, scheduled for July 12 and August 2, are available for prospective students from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The 701 Third Street location at Kemper will host. Applicants are asked to pre-register by calling the SFCC Admissions Department at 660-530-5833. The events have no cost.
"We would love to see 150 students enrolled by the end of these events – by the start of the fall semester," said SFCC Director of Admission, Mark Carter.
The Kemper location will offer, initially, approximately 30 general education courses, covering math, English, public speaking and other areas of study.
"One thing that we're putting a tremendous amount of effort into is the hiring of a well-rounded faculty. We want as many local people as possible. As far as State Fair in Boonville, I'll be in charge of hiring the faculty. This is a new location, as you know, and I'm also here to be the voice of the students. It's important for me to be accessible to any student who has questions or concerns," said Feldman.
Classes begin on Monday, August 20. The two remaining enrollment events are designed to assist students in applying for admission, financial aid, enrolling in classes and obtaining general information concerning the purchase of textbooks. Future students may also inquire about disability accommodations. Further information about admissions can be obtained by visiting www.sfccmo.edu/admissions or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Office hours for Feldman are set on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until noon. They begin on July 16 and end on August 17. Due to ongoing construction and remodeling, the office will temporarily be housed at the Boonslick Technical Education Center, located at 1694 W. Ashley Road. Feldman can be contacted at 660-281-5870 or via email at email@example.com.
