  • Boonville Ready Mix player Carson Campbell did a little bit of everything last night while leading his team past Excel by a score of 24-2 in three innings.
    While handling the catching duties for Boonville Ready Mix, Campbell was also perfect at the plate while going 4-for-4 with two singles, two doubles and five RBIs.
    As for the nightcap, McDonald’s picked up a forfeit against Boonville Daily News 6-0.
    Boonville Ready Mix, improving to 15-2 on the season, opened the game with 17 runs in the top-half of the first, all of which came with two outs in the inning.
    Meanwhile, after holding Excel scoreless in the first-two innings, Boonville Ready Mix came back and plated seven more runs in the second to go up by a score of 24-0.
    Of course Excel didn’t go down without a fight. While being out-hit in the game 13-2, Excel came back and sent two runs across in the bottom-half of the third to avoid the shutout.
    Cole Meisenheimer picked up the win on the mound for Boonville Ready Mix while Charlie Bronakowski took the loss for Excel, who dropped to 1-15.
    Meisenheimer pitched one inning and struck out one batter while hitting one. Sam Esser then came in and pitched one inning in relief and walked two while striking out one batter. Then, to finish the game, Adam Klein pitched one inning and surrendered three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out one.
    For Excel, Bronakowski pitched 2/3 inning and issued eight runs on two hits and five walks while striking out two. Brayden McFarland then came in and pitched 1/3 inning and yielded nine runs on five hits and two walks. Meanwhile, after Lucas Ziegelbein pitched one inning and gave up seven runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one, Tyson Fahrenbrink came in and pitched one inning and struck out three batters while giving up one hit.
    Bailey Quint went 2-for-3 in the game for Boonville Ready Mix with a single, triple and three RBIs. Dillon Alpers had two singles and one RBI while Sam Esser added two singles, Cole Meisenheimer with a three-RBI single, Adam Klein with a two-RBI single and Anthony Black with one single.
    For Excel, Charlie Bronakowski and Lucas Ziegelbein each had one single.
