  • It seemed to matter little to Carlie Daniel that Heritage Days was going on in Boonville over the weekend.
    With only nine swimmers competing in a quadrangular meet Saturday at Mexico, Daniel led the Boonslick Heartland YMCA Blue Marlins swim team with first place finishes in three events by winning the 25 free, 25 fly and 25 breaststroke. Daniel also placed third in the 25 backstroke while competing in the 6-and-under age group.
    In addition to Boonville and Mexico, Boonslick YMCA Aquatics Director Vanessa Dorman said Waverly and Eldon also took part in the meet.
    Madeline Browning, who competed in the 9-10 age group, also captured first in the 100 I.M. while placing fifth in the 25 free and eighth in both the 25 fly and 25 breaststroke.
    Also in the 6-and-under age group, Allison Drummond placed second in both the 25 back and 25 free.
    In the 7-8 age group, Hailey James finished third in the 25 fly, fourth in the 25 breaststroke, seventh in the 25 free and ninth in the 25 back. Abigail Taber also participated in the 7-8 age group and took sixth in the 25 back, seventh in the 25 breaststroke and 15th in the 25 free.
    In the 9-10 age group, Hana Cook placed third in the 25 fly, seventh in the 25 back, seventh in the 25 free and seventh in the 25 breaststroke. Olivia Conrow, meanwhile, finished 13th in the 25 fly, 15th in the 25 free, 16th in the 25 back and 16th in the 25 breaststroke.
    In the 11-12 age group, Sarah Vogt finished third in the 50 breaststroke, fourth in the 100 I.M., fifth in the 50 back, fifth in the 50 fly and sixth in the 50 free. Hunter Collyott, meanwhile, placed third in the 100 free, fifth in the 100 I.M., seventh in the 50 back and eighth in the 50 free.
