In Cal Ripken Minor last night at the Cal Ripken field, Huebert Fiberboard rallied from a 2-0 deficit after two innings by outscoring Boonville Daily News 10-2 for the rest of the game en route to a 10-4 victory.
Meanwhile, in the nightcap, Boonville Ready Mix led CARSTAR from start to finish to win by the mercy rule by a score of 16-0.
Boonville Daily News, dropping to 5-10 on the season, had the right idea against Huebert Fiberboard by pushing across one run in the first on one walk and a RBI-single by Alex Rhode.
Then, after holding Huebert Fiberboard scoreless in its half of the first, BDN came back and tacked on another run in the second on two walks and a wild pitch to make it 2-0.
Unfortunately for the BDN, they never led again after that as Huebert Fiberboard rallied back with three runs in the third on five walks and three again in the fourth on four walks, one error and a bunt single by Bryce Harris to go up by a score of 6-2.
But even then the Boonville Daily News made it close by plating two more runs across in the fifth on two walks and a single by Luke Kollmeyer to cut the lead to two at 6-4.
Huebert Fiberboard then made it official in the bottom-half of the fourth by sending four more runs across on three walks, one error and a two-RBI double by Reece Lang for the victory.
