Georgia Lee Ward-Herhold born June 4, 1938 in New Franklin Missouri, passed away on May 23, 2012 after a brief but devastating fight with lung cancer. She was 73 years old.
Georgia moved to Ash Fork, Arizona 14 years ago and already had a dream of putting together a community newsletter. Her dream came to fruition as “Ashfork Online”. For 13 years, the newspaper brought this small community together with news of current events and happenings of the area, as well as a connection to services for people in town and in remote areas. Georgia was a loving, caring and witty woman who will be missed dearly and will always be loved by her Family, and her many, many close friends. There is not yet a word to describe the impact and impression that Georgia made on everyone who met her, other than she touched us all.
Georgia is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Shields; her Father William Ward, Brother Mike Ward; baby son Eddie and granddaughter Sara Beth.
Georgia has left behind her husband Rich Herhold, brothers Richard, Mark and Tim Ward; Uncle Richard Frost and wife Barbara. Her Children; Steve, Susie, Sherry, Alyce and Jennifer; Son-in-laws Rick, Dave, Mark and Chris. Grandchildren: Susan, Steven, Marissa, Raymond, Chance, Lyon, Dan, Joshua and Emily. Great Grandchildren Melena, Kevin and Hayden of Maryland, Braelyn of North Carolina, Stella, Gage, Zoie and little Baby Owen, all of California.
Services including viewing will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 1:00 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Ash Fork. Following this memorial please join the funeral procession to the Williams Cemetary for prayer and a last goodbye to Georgia.
A “Celebration of Life” dinner, prepared by Georgia’s friends, shall be held at the Ash Fork American Legion following the graveside memorial.
