- The Pilot Grove boys and Bunceton girls basketball teams captured the championship in the Class 1 District 8 Tournament Friday night at Northwest of Hughesville. The Tigers defeated Otterville 51-46 while the Lady Dragons prevailed over Otterville 48-35. As for the New Franklin girls, they fell in the title game against Sturgeon 42-33.
