- The New Franklin boys and girls basketball teams had a rough start Friday night during Homecoming against the Salisbury Panthers while losing by the scores of 67-43 and 35-29, respectively. The crowning of the king and queen took place after the game. Emily Hendrix was crowned the 2013 Homecoming Queen while Evan Storjohann was the King.
