Unprecedented turnout prompts passing of Village of Windsor bond issue
Boonville–In what Cooper County Clerk Darryl Kempf called "unprecedented," the $1.32 million sewer bond issue placed before the Village of Windsor Place on August 6, voters passed by 96.5 percent. Of the 200 registered voters, 42.5 percent turned out equaling 85 votes.
Voting to the affirmative was 82 votes, with only three votes against.
The Village of Windsor Place southeast of Boonville has been plagued with the Department of Natural Resources pressure for years over their lagoon. The passing of the bond means the village will be able to build a sewage treatment plant.
